We met a few realtors before choosing Jill and I am beyond thankful we went with her. To put it lightly she made our dreams come true! Now it was not all dreamy the whole process of getting a house ready. I had a few freak outs but she was on the phone or in person to calm me down within the hour. It was our first home we were listing. We'd renovated the house ourselves. It was our first baby. Love, sweat and tears went to that house. We'd brought two children into the world in that south Berkeley home. But it was time to move on so we listed. Jill turned our gem of a house into a diamond! She has people to do everything! We were getting it ready on a budget so we choose professionals for some of the work and some we did. Jill worked with us to figure that out. Jill is a very nice person who aims to please. She is extraordinarily good at sales and is excellent at negotiation. But, we strongly recommend you employ a real estate attorney and not put all trust in the Grubb Company.
If you have a home to sell in the Bay Area, we can strongly recommend Jill and the Grubb Company ONLY if you have a real estate attorney at your side from Day 1.

After meeting with a few real estate agents, I decided to go to Yelp for suggestions and found Jill Carrigan. The moment I met her I knew instantly she was the perfect person to help me sell my Piedmont home.
Jill is so easy to work with, down to earth, extremely knowledgeable about real estate in the Bay area, and has great design taste. She helped me do a mini-remodel of a bathroom and helped with all the decisions regarding paint, paint colors, and updates recommended to make the house look it's best.
Jill had numerous contractors and handymen that were reliable, reasonable and fast. She helped me find a great stager that made the house look beautiful. I would recommend Jill in a heartbeat to anyone thinking of putting their house on the market or looking to bye one.

Jill did an outstanding job as our agent, selling our house in the Oakland hills. We relocated to the Portland/Vancouver area, and Jill did a masterful job every step of the way, from preparation, to staging/listing, to the sale and close. We are so grateful for her skills and abilities, I don't know how we would have done this with another agent. Our house sold in 6 days, and we had to manage all of this from another state. Jill is the ultimate professional, and is an incredibly nice and helpful person throughout the process.

Jill Carrigan is a real estate dynamo. She has represented us as both buyers and sellers, and those experiences were better than we could have imagined.
As a buying agent, she was incredibly patient while we explored inventory. She educated us on the market and nuances of various East Bay neighborhoods. In the Bay Area, few people get a slam-dunk their first time shopping for a house, and Jill knows how to help you focus, be realistic about your options, and stay optimistic. In the end, we got the house we loved and lived in it for 10 years.
As a selling agent, Jill was amazing. There is a lot to do when you put your house on the market if you want it to fetch top dollar. Jill instinctively knew everything we should do (the RIGHT things; nothing excessive) and helped us plan and stay organized. She also knew exactly who to call - from painters, to contractors, to stagers, to photographers, to inspectors - so our house looked perfect and there were no surprises. In the end, our house got 13 offers and sold for far more than we ever expected to get. I can honestly say this is purely due to Jill's experience and know-how.
Real estate in the Bay Area is daunting, to say the least. You need an advocate like Jill who knows her stuff and can help you navigate the murky waters. She's also a terrific person and fun to be around, which matters because buying/selling a home is a very personal and emotional experience. We'd work with Jill again in a heartbeat!

Jill Carrigan. To know her is to love her. My husband and I relocated to the Bay area for new jobs and after renting for a year decided to explore the idea of buying our first home. With all the reports of the crazy housing crisis in the Bay Area we were anything but optimistic about finding a single family home in Oakland that would give our family of 4 enough space in a decent neighborhood and with modest incomes. We couldn't compete with all cash offers so we needed a savvy real estate agent to help us. Enter Jill Carrigan. She was referred to us by two different co-workers who purchased a home in Oakland with her and from our very first meeting I was impressed.
As Oakland transplants her knowledge of the Oakland hills was impressive and she patiently explained to us the (non-judgmental) facts about the pros/cons of the various neighborhoods. What we also loved about her was that although we would not be her most lucrative client and she works regularly with multi-million dollar homes, she seemed just as eager and invested in us finding a home for our growing family. She spent several weekends touring with us and quickly figured out what we needed (Space!). She helped us to be creative and envision how a less than ideal home could work for us but also pushed us to stay in our target area of the Oakland Hills when we started to feel like we would have to settle for another city further out to afford a home.
When we were finally ready to pull the trigger and write an offer, Jill was very strategic. She didn't say what we wanted to hear, she told us the straight up truth about what terms we needed to have an accepted offer. I was shocked that our first offer was countered in this market and less than 4 months after working with Jill we put a second offer that was accepted and we were thrilled and shocked that our housing search was relatively pain-free!
Now that we are settling into our new home, Jill still reaches out from time to time, just to say hi. She is one of our most trusted sources for referrals for contractors and local businesses as we put the finishing touches on our new home. I honestly don't know where we would be without Jill Carrigan and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell their home in Oakland.

As a second time homebuyer, I can strongly recommend Jill Carrigan as a real estate agent. Of course, it's a big decision, and there's bound to be stress, but Jill did a great job helping us hold it together. I was impressed by her familiarity with the market, her solid advice about all aspects of the process, and her steadiness throughout the journey.
It took us a while to find the right place, but when we did, it ended up being a week long negotiation and a 21-day close. Jill was in constant communication with us and on top of the negotiations with the sellers. My wife and I felt very comfortable knowing that Jill was with us every step of the way.

I knew when we met Jill that she would help us find a perfect house! As first time home buyers she helped us feel comfortable and understand the process. She kept us going through ups and downs. She knew everyone involved in real estate in the area and she was so knowledgeable about all of the neighborhoods! Even after we bought our house she referred us to inspectors, roofers and contractors when we asked for help. She even gave us restaurant recommendations! It was like having a great friend who you could trust to help you make great choices and be successful at buying in a difficult market.

Jill is outstanding!
She helped us sell our house in Montclair and buy our dream home in another part of the Oakland Hills. She guided us through and coordinated the entire process and was always available to answer questions and follow up on everything in a very timely fashion. She educated us on what was happening each step of the way, what we needed to do, and what to expect. We trusted Jill 100% because she had so much experience and gave excellent advice, which made every decision so much easier.
