Unhei Kang was a great fit for us! She was a good listener, asked insightful questions that helped us think through our priorities, and was very open-minded. We ended up finding a perfect (for us) house in our neighborhood, which we thought we would be priced out of. She showed us houses that had been on the market for a while, and we ended up getting a great deal on a charming house. The closing process was incredibly smooth, and she was extremely responsive via email and worked seamlessly with our lenders. This was our first home purchase and it could not have gone better!

Having Unhei as our agent on our first home purchase was invaluable. With the Bay Area market being so hot and unusual, Unhei patiently walked us through each step and addressed all of our million concerns and questions. She also connected us with other professionals involved with the process, which we greatly appreciated. My partner and I had a really wonderful experience working with Unhei. This was my first time buying a home, so I had no idea what I was doing. Her many years of expertise, organization, and structure helped us quickly focus on houses that met our needs. She understands that everyone is looking for something different, and she also is willing to point out when a house probably won't meet her clients' needs.

Unhei was amazing to work with as we bought our first house in the East Bay. Throughout the whole purchasing process, Unhei was super responsive to our questions. She gave lots of valuable insight into the different neighborhoods that we were exploring and offered a different perspective on the houses that we often hadn't considered. Even if we were to go through the process again, we would still choose to go with Unhei. She made this stressful and time-sensitive process much more manageable and approachable. We ended up buying a place that we are very happy with. Just bought an amazing home (our first) in this near-impossible market, and we couldn't have done it without Unhei. We felt like Unhei was our secret weapon. She listened attentively to what our goals were, but asked thoughtful questions and helped us figure out what we REALLY cared out. She was kind, thoughtful, patient, and it felt like she was just as emotionally invested in the process as we were.
But perhaps what we valued the most about Unhei is that she does not sugar-coat. She did not tell us what we wanted to hear. She gave us her honest, unvarnished opinion, based on her experience. As first-time home buyers, we really needed this. If Unhei felt like a property was a poor investment, she'd tell us. If Unhei felt certain that a property was going to sell above our budget, she'd tell us. By the same token, if a property was one we stood a good chance of getting, made for a solid investment, and we needed to move quickly--she'd tell us. We felt protected and care for, because we knew that Unhei wasn't going to let us make a bad decision :)
We're so happy with our new home, and there's absolutely NO DOUBT we'd work with Unhei again.

Unhei helped me purchase my West Oakland condo in 2010. She made the process easy to understand and answered my many questions clearly and promptly. I am so thankful for that day I met her at an open house and she agreed to work with me. We have kept in touch over the years and she is trusted adviser as I try to understand changes in the market and make decisions about my investment. She is a superb communicator and quite generous with her time. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Unhei was recommended to me by a friend. I was buying my first home, in a tough real estate market in Oakland. She took the time to understand what features I was looking for, and steered me toward great options. She introduced me to a mortgage lender who set me up for success with my offer and later mortgage. I felt like she was honest, authentic, genuine, and really wanted me to find the right home.
Unhei is very hands on, explaining all the steps of the home-buying process as well as the mortgage process. She goes above and beyond to introduce you to others that can help you in the home buying process. She even came with me to sign the mortgage paperwork in case I had any questions during the process. When touring different open houses, other agents had very positive compliments about their experiences working with Unhei.
I would definitely recommend her!

I love working with Unhei! She is an expert realtor, a great people person, trustworthy, and helps shepherd all parts of the home buying process. Unhei helped me buy my first home in 2011-- based on that I knew I wanted to work with her again. Last year, my husband and I started dipping our toes into a *very* different housing market. We looked on and off for about a year (we got busy with a new baby). The whole time, Unhei was patient and always gave helpful perspectives on homes we were looking at. When dealing with difficult personalities, she took it in stride and worked hard to make sure we were comfortable. When it came time to closing-- she helped facilitate good communication between all parties. We will definitely work with her again!
