House-hunting is stressful enough without shady, dishonest real estate brokers. I couldn't be more disappointed with Jennifer's level of professionalism. We set multiple phone appointments and she missed them all. That wasn't the worst of it though; the worst part was the lying. She gave a wide variety of seriously bizarre-o excuses for why she bailed, never once taking accountability for setting appointments and then no-showing.
Here were her excuses: 1) "I was with another client and we ran over." (Buuuut you could've texted to tell me that so that I wasn't waiting around. The rest of us are busy and have lives, too.) 2) "I couldn't text you because my friend died." (!!!!) 3) "I'll call you between 5-5:30." (She called 2 hours later, when I'd given up, put down my phone, and was doing other things.) 4) "I did call you, you just didn't answer. Why aren't you ever free when I call you?" (Erm, lady, you coulda texted or left a VM. And I have no missed calls from you.)
#2 is obviously my favorite. (Who SAYS that to a client?!) But the last excuse was just amazing and here's why: it was our 4th phone appt. Given that she'd already missed 3 phone dates, I asked her to text me if she was running late or couldn't make it. *She never did.* I waited by the phone for 2 HOURS. In fact, I didn't hear a thing from her until the next day. And she has so many options for communication! - but not a single text, call, or email. She'd completely forgotten. The worst part? She then pretended that she *had* called, said she'd left a VM, and that I must've just "missed it." Here's the thing: my phone was on. I was staring at it. It's not broken. I had exactly zero missed calls. I had exactly zero voicemails. She never called me. What amazing dishonesty.
House-hunting is super stressful. When you select a real estate agent, you want to find someone you can trust, who will be honest with you, and who has the time to actually speak with you. Someone who will show up when she says she will, respond to your calls and texts, and won't leave you in the lurch. Someone who, at the very least, respects your time. There are so many Bay Area real estate agents. Find someone who's honest - and professional - maybe even thoughtful? - instead. Amen.

This was my first time buying home, and Jennifer proved to be a fantastic partner in the process. She knew the various neighborhoods in Oakland in and out, knew what inventory was out there, knew which areas to recommend based on the types of homes I like, and she was extremely responsive. When the opportunity opened to extend an offer on my first choice property, she jumped on it to make sure we got ours in ASAP. She was also available to answer all of my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Finally, she knew exactly what price to extend my offer at, and my offer was accepted quickly. If you're looking for a new home in Oakland, I'd definitely recommend Jennifer - I'd work with her again in a heartbeat!

Being a first time home buyer I was quiet inexperienced with the process and details of the real estate world. Luckily I found Jennifer who has a deep knowledge and history with the East Bay. She helped keep me calm and informed as I went through the various steps of locating, bidding and closing on a condo. Her sense of good taste and honesty about the various locations we visited was very positive. Anytime I had a question she either knew the answer or would research it and get back to me quickly. Jennifer is very professional and a pleasure to work with.
